About erateradar
erateradar is built by Helios One. It turns public USAC E-rate records into one weekly list for small IT providers: the open network bids within 60 miles of your office, each with what that school reported last time, where USAC has a record.
Why we built it
Schools and libraries post their network bids on USAC as Form 470s. What each one reported last time (how many bids it got, which provider it chose, the price) is public too. But it sits in a different dataset, filed in an earlier year, and the two only connect through the school’s entity number and the kind of service it asked for.
We do that join in code for each open network bid we can place and check, and send you one list for your 60-mile territory every Monday. Same public data anyone can download; the work is in joining it and checking it.
More on what each list holds and who it fits: E-rate lead software for small IT providers.
How we work
-
Every fact links to its USAC record.
Each number and name in your list carries a link to the public USAC row it came from, so you can check it in one click.
The sources → -
Code computes the numbers. No AI model writes them.
Each sentence is built from USAC fields only, and is re-read against the raw records before it is shown.
How a finding is built → -
When a form contradicts itself, we leave the number out.
A “count” that is really licences, or a rack listed “in case”, is not quoted as a purchase.
What we withhold → -
We check ourselves, and publish the result.
In an independent check on November 6, 2026, 661 of 661 claims in 30 random findings matched live USAC records.
The accuracy check → -
We contact no schools, and never write a 470.
We read public records and send them to you. What you do with a bid stays between you and the school.
